I was born in America but raised on the small island of Penang, Malaysia. As a kid, I was fascinated with everything I saw on the TV screen and always sought out the ‘Making Of’ or ‘Behind The Scenes’ of anything that peaked my interest.
I would draw comics, write short stories and experiment with my camera to film Stop-motion shorts. I realized a lot of forms of entertainment intrigued me from 2D Animation to Live Action. I remember trying to figure out how Christopher Reeves flew in Superman, discovering Claymation through Chicken Run and being blown away by the work put into the hairs on Sully in Monsters Inc.
Throughout the years, I found myself wanting to know more and, as I got older, I realized not everyone had the same level of interest in film and TV. It was then that I knew I had to pursue a career in this industry. I took 2 years of Basic Arts classes and then moved to The States where I attended a trade school for Visual Effects and Animation, which led me to Compositing. However, I don’t plan to stop here and hope to venture into other departments of Production in the future.
